Most helpfull

Laura Battaglia from Castellafiume

This had a very deep pine, fruity flavour with very quick upswing. I would say it is a 6 out of 10 for smoothness, but definitely an enjoyable smoke to play with. Exhaling through the nose gives nice deep aromas and kickstarts your high quickly with this weed, peaking very shortly after first hit. A Few hits through glasswear will do fine because it builds a harshening resin smoke quite quickly. I rate this an 8 for potency and function with a 7 for overall strain enjoyment and satisfaction.

Particularly enjoyed it. Had a pinch just for taste and now I’m writing this review. Oh god I should stop writing, I’m getting scared! Someone call a doctor. Dude, you! Yeah you can you call me a doctor?

Basic / Breeders Info

Granny Skunk is an indica/sativa variety from Dominion Seed Company and can be cultivated indoors (where the plants will need a flowering time of ±61 days ) and outdoors . Dominion Seed Companys Granny Skunk is a THC dominant variety and is/was never available as feminized seeds.

Dominion Seed Companys Granny Skunk Description

Flower Cycle: 56-65 Days
Yield: Medium – Heavy

Morphology – Produces very short tight noded bushes with very strong vertically dominant branching that grow ever so laterally opening of the plants just right. Very heavy thick resinous big colas with chunky buds all the way down the branch. Smells range from Pine tar opium, coffee bean skunk pine, pine eucalyptus/sour apple hash.

How Does It Smoke – Thick hashy smoke that has a very narcotic head and body but enough sativa to make the mind active yet unable to think clearly. Robotripesque type high.

Growing Notes – Grow larger sized bushes, plants only stretch .75:1 to 1:1 , stripping the inner most nodes and lower shaded areas will help you to stack on a lot of weight up top. Some phenos show light sensitivity issues with the lights too bright. I found starting bloom around 500-600 umol m2 and then gradually working up to 800-900 umol m2 worked the best.

Pest Resistance – 8/10

Mildew Resistance – 8/10

Stress Resistance Notes – No hermaphroditic traits noted thru stress testing

Seeds Here Now was built on the principles of making medical quality cannabis seeds and providing the best customer service in the industry.

13 Regular Seeds Per Pack

Flowering Time: 60-68 Days

Yield: Medium – Medium High

Morphology – Plants grow laterally and vertically equally during bloom making nice manageable bushes. They tend to double in size give or take. Stacking up nicely with fairly tight nodes with bio mass production early and gland production that slowly catches up. When mass production slows the glands frost out. Flowers smell like burnouts at the race track, hot burnt rubber with a touch of asphalt.

How Does It Smoke – Very thick smoke with good chem and ghani hash flavor. Strong hitting right to the forehead and behind the eyes. Flat out stoned red-eyed blistered feeling. Great if you don’t want to think too much.

Growing Notes – Shape large bushes and defoliate inward facing fan leaves prior to bloom along with the lower third. Feed a median feed throughout with a good PK boost in week 4/5/6. Supplement calcium weeks 1-4 and magnesium and sulfur weeks 5/6/7. This will get you the stankiest of stank and buds will fill in nice and proper.

Pest Resistance- 8/10 Mold Resistance 8/10 Mildew Resistance- 6/10 Stress Resistance Notes- Over feeding will result in diminished yields and quality. May cause some hermaphroditic flowers in late bloom in extreme cases.

A Special Message from Dominion Seed Company

The holidays are officially upon us, and all of us at Dominion Seed Company wish you and yours a wonderful holiday season. We have been working hard all year developing new cultivars for your 2019 gardens, and restocking the hot items from 2018. Granny Skunk, for instance, a rare Afghani cutting from Virginia, crossed with our epic hash plant skunk male. The aromas, flavor, and head thumping potency of yesteryear all in one package!

We strive to hit all of the notes in our selections by painstakingly growing and selecting only the finest specimens for our breeding projects. We believe that complacency and acceptance of mediocrity is what drives the genetic pool further in to the toilet. At Dominion Seed Company, we breed by example; keen eyes, decades of experience, walking the walk, and actually living the life. While others are just imitating the same tired b.s., we strive to be the tip of the spear. We do that by developing unique and heavily tested lines that will perform for everyone from the novice to the seasoned grower. Our lines are created out of medicinal needs vs the new flavor of the month. We are more driven on effect and quality than the typical hype driven market.

From recreation of lost lines to developing new cultivars for all growers, we are sure to have what you need. We have decades of experience, actually living the life that others only talk about. Our genetics are actually sourced from the source and we have been their caregivers every step of the way through prohibition right on up to present day. I consider our team at Dominion Seed Company to be second to none and we are so pleased and honored to be able to work with the fine folks at

Enjoy this holiday season with your family and friends. Please take the time to be good to one another, take care of each other, be happy and continue to do so all year round. Use your growing skill sets to help the sick and the people in need around you. Good intentions, positive attitudes and charity are contagious and can spread faster than cancerous bad attitudes and greed. Be the change you wish to see in this world and truly embrace the ethics and morals instilled within us.

For those of you who join this good fight, Dominion Seed Company has your back. We would like to thank all of our supporters, fans and extended family. Without y’all, we wouldn’t be here and y’all are our number one’s! We at Dominion Seed Company are your biggest fans as well and we’ll continue to work hard to make sure that you are equipped with what you need to keep up the good fight. Thank you for everything you do and for “overgrowing” the empire. All the best to you for the remainder of 2018 and best wishes for a great 2019.

pure afghan seeds

Afghaan 90

Afghaan 90 is a pure Afghan Indica-type heirloom direct from 1990 seed stock.

Seeds labelled ‘Afghaan’ were acquired in Amsterdam in 1990 and stored long-term. Now, 30 years on, the strain is alive and kicking, straight from the original 1990 seeds.

Two main types are shown by this strain, namely dwarf broad-leafleted and taller, more narrow-leafleted variants.

These are high-yielding plants with big colas that dry to nice, solid nugs. Often purple colours are shown.

Buds are intensely resinous. Aromas in flower range from candy-sweet floral to diesel and hash. Smoke is earthy and spicy.

The high is positive and warm, with tingly body effects and a sense of well-being. Notably, there are none of the paranoid or dysphoric effects associated with some pure Indica heirlooms.

Thanks to the source, we’re able to offer these seeds at a very fair price, considering the significance and rarity of these genetics.

Pure Afghan

Pure Afghan is a 100% indica landrace cannabis strain from Mazari Sharif mountains in Afghanistan, exclusively distributed by DNA Genetics and now available at Alchimia Grow Shop.

This indica marijuana strain, sold only in regular form for mother plant lovers or home breeders, directly comes from the afghan mountains, to ensure authentic and fresh seeds.

Pure Afghan is used to grow in altitude, presenting a compact structure and early flowering, so it matures before weather turns too cold.

Thus, only 7 to 8 flowering weeks are enough to harvest from 450 to up to 550 grams/m2 of resinous buds, which will be a delight for indica strains and cannabis concentrates lovers.

Fast Flowering weed seeds

Even quicker: fast flowering weed seeds by SensorySeeds

It might seem an illusion to think that a cannabis plant could be blooming in just a little more than a month, but it is possible with SensorySeeds fast marijuana seeds! Automatic, feminized and fast-growing marijuana seeds directly from the USA are the innovative products that our company offers you on our online shop!

Thanks to the venture with BSF Seeds, only the top shelf quality seeds make their way into our seeds bank. As a matter of fact, the acronym BSF stands for “Bigger, Stronger, Faster”: plants which grow from SensorySeeds cannabis sativa seeds are larger, more resistant and quicker at blooming.

The only goal we had in mind was to offer you only the best varieties of hemp seeds; therefore, we turned to BSF for our marijuana seeds supply. This is a company that has revolutionized the world of cannabis cultivation, because its seeds give life to plants that are “Bigger, Stronger, Faster”, as the words behind its acronym suggest.

SensorySeeds fastflowering strains will be even faster than usual and, in addition to that, they come from automatic and feminized varieties, being therefore particularly resistant to external agents. A perfect mix and a one not to be missed! Discover SensorySeeds shop!

What are the advantages in buying from SensorySeeds?

SensorySeeds’ success lies in its products quality and in a fast and efficient customer service. The weed seeds we sell on our online shop are the result of careful researches, carried on selecting only the best seeds available on the market. BSF’ guarantee of quality, which has conquered the USA, only adds to the checks that our company carries out on every batch of marijuana seeds we receive, before we put them on sale. Nothing is left to chance here.

The result of this double evaluation steps are seeds with exceptional performances and that can be preserved, if our specific instructions are followed, for even more than a year.

We also know how important easiness and rapidity can be: not only placing an order on our website it’s a very simple procedure, but we also chose an express delivery service, which make it possible for you to receive your Sensoryseeds cannabis seeds order in the shortest time possible.

What does it mean that fast flowering seeds come from an autoflowering seeds?

Autoflowering strains are a very particular kind of cannabis seeds, deriving from a cross between feminized seeds and those of a Ruderalis variety. The latter is a strain with peculiar features because it grows naturally and spontaneously in Siberia.

The weed seeds obtained from this hybridization do not require a full 12 hours daylight cycle; this is why they are not affected by the change of seasons (this is one of the major characteristics of the Ruderalis variety); in addition, the probability that they give origin to female plants is greater than 90% (such as the feminized cannabis seeds).

SensorySeeds Fast Flowering strains can, therefore, germinate and grow throughout the year, giving birth to female plants with a very high percentage of probability and all of that at maximum speed, in little more than a month! The crops will be frequent and fruitful, in any season!

Is it difficult to breed cannabis plants growing from fast seeds?

Not particularly. As with all plants, and cannabis in particular, it is necessary to pay attention during hemp seeds germination phase, which is the most delicate one, but once that is overcome, the Ruderalis variety ensures a relative plant resistance to external agents.

This means also that the fast seeds of SensorySeeds shop can be grown both outdoors and indoors, provided that all the appropriate measures have been taken in order to adjust: sun exposure (which does not need to reach 12h but which is however important), humidity (to avoid mold), temperature and soil nutrients.

By paying attention to these four elements, difficulties will be minimal and the fast flowering cannabis seeds will have a fantastic yield and optimal flowering time!

Are we allowed by law to purchase marijuana seeds?

Selling or buying cannabis seeds is not forbidden by European laws, that only indicate that it is not allowed to grow marijuana plantations if the THC level is above 0,2%. The latter is a rule that is applicable to cannabis plantation for industrial purposes. Nothing is said for domestic cultivation, a matter regulated by each Country internal law.

SensorySeeds cannabis strains are sold exclusively as collectible seeds, with the only purpose of preserving genetics. Therefore, the use done by those who buy them on SensorySeeds shop is not our responsibility.

What are the best methods to preserve my weed seeds?

In order to preserve the collectible Sensoryseeds cannabis strains, it is necessary to make sure that they remain in their resting phase, avoiding that germination begins. Particular attention should be paid to: light, temperature and humidity.

As far as light is concerned, the risk of germination occurs especially when the weed seed receives direct sunlight. It is therefore advisable not to expose the seed to this type of light, but to leave it in a dark place.

Hemp seeds can survive and be much better preserved at low temperatures. However, temperature swings are particularly harmful for the seeds, at the point that they could irreparably ruin them. For this reason, if you choose to use the refrigerator as a place for storage, it should not be opened and closed too frequently.

We understand that the correct humidity cannot be determined absolutely; it is important to find the right balance so that the seed does not rot or mold does not form and, on the other hand, that it does not dry out too much. If you pay attention to these factors, Sensoryseeds marijuana seeds can be kept for up to two years!

10 Fast-Growing Cannabis Flowers for Impatient Gardeners

Growing cannabis can be an arduous process. Beyond the space, materials, and nutrients needed, time and light are the most essential ingredients in the cannabis cultivation equation. But what if you’re impatient or short on time? Is there a way to speed up the growing process?

Historically, black market growers would seek out or hybridize strains to harness attributes that catered to their surreptitious needs. These plants would usually be short and stalky with larger-than-average yields, and in some instances they would be autoflowering (such as a ruderalis hybrid). They were designed to be fast-flowering for both a quick turnover and so they could be easily relocated from time to time.

The fast-flowering cannabis strains listed below are now emerging for professional and hobby growers to utilize. They’re perfect for novice growers as well as set-it-and-forget-it growers who want to squeeze out a harvest with little time to spare. The list includes a mixture of both photoperiod and autoflowering varieties so you can find the perfect plants for your setup.

Photoperiod Strains That Grow Quickly (7-9 Weeks)

Lowryder is a hybrid strain that was inbred for nine generations by Joint Doctor Seeds to give it a dwarfed size. Growing no more than 16 inches tall, it’s the cannabis equivalent of a bonsai for the discrete grower’s windowsill or balcony. Lowryder’s small size comes from a species of cannabis ruderalis crossed with Northern Lights #2 and then William’s Wonder. Consumers, be patient with this strain: its medicinal and cerebrally stimulating effects have a slow but powerful onset. A mild earthy aroma radiates from the small, conic buds which autoflower in a short 40 to 45 days. Lowryder is a stalwart plant that can survive in harsh, colder climates, making it a popular strain in northern regions like Finland and Canada.

Critical Kush

Critical Kush from Barney’s Farm is a mostly indica strain that blends together two famed cannabis staples, Critical Mass and OG Kush. Aromatic notes of earthiness and spice usher in a calming sensation that relaxes the mind and body. Critical Kush pairs a staggeringly high THC content with a moderate dose of CBD, making this strain a perfect nighttime medication for pain, stress, insomnia, and muscle spasms. Growers cultivating this strain indoors will wait 50 to 60 days for Critical Kush to complete its flowering cycle.

Early Girl

Early Girl is the wallflower of cannabis strains since its introduction in the 1980s. Lovingly preserved by the breeders at Sensi Seeds, this strain is lazy and relaxed, nothing over the top. A 75/25 indica-dominant hybrid, Early Girl is a good one for those new to cannabis who would like relief from stress. Also a great strain for novice growers, it’s compact, resilient, and has a particularly short flowering time of 7 to 8 weeks. Early Girl grows especially well outdoors, but won’t put up a fuss if she’s stuck inside.

OG Kush

OG Kush makes up the genetic backbone of West Coast cannabis varieties, but in spite of its ubiquity, its genetic origins remain a mystery. Popular myth maintains that Chemdawg and Hindu Kush parented OG Kush, passing on the distinct “kush” bud structure we see in many strains today. However, we can’t be sure because OG Kush first came from bag seed in the early 90s. The earliest propagators (now known as Imperial Genetics) are said to have brought the seeds out of Florida to Colorado and southern California, where it now flourishes. There are many different phenotypes of OG Kush, some of which include Tahoe OG, SFV OG, and Alpha OG.

OG Kush is cherished for its ability to crush stress under the weight of its heavy euphoria. It carries an earthy pine and sour lemon scent with woody undertones, an aroma that has become the signature of OG Kush varieties and descendants. With OG Kush, patients most commonly cite improvements in migraines, ADD/ADHD, and stress disorders.

Superglue is a hybrid strain bred by Seedism Seeds. A cross between Afghani and Northern Lights, Superglue inherits indica growth patterns along with a sweet caramel and pine aroma. Superglue brings calming relaxation to the mind and body, but leaves you functional and energetic enough for social activities or a productive afternoon.

Autoflowering Strains That Grow Quickly (7-12 Weeks)

Red Dwarf

Red Dwarf is a rarer strain of cannabis that is an autoflowering plant. This trait comes from its cannabis ruderalis genetics, which is a third variety of the plant that’s usually not bred due to its lower THC content. The wonders of selective breeding from Buddha Seeds have resulted in seeds that grow to adulthood in an incredibly short six weeks. This strain’s squat, small plants are easy to grow in smaller spaces, making it a popular choice for growers who want something simple and fast. Indica-dominant, Red Dwarf will eventually make you sleepy, but not without some relaxed euphoria first.

Hobbit by Kannabia Seeds is a resilient autoflowering variety with sweetness and strong elemental resistance. This strain has a sweet aroma that has been described as “strawberry candy” and an equally sweet smoke with latent earthy notes. Hobbit deftly combines stimulating Haze elements with a pervasive body buzz that is lightly weighted while remaining pleasant and functional. Many growers covet this autoflowering wonder for its quick 65-day flowering time and above-average yield.

White Ryder

White Ryder is Riot Seeds’ attempt to create a ruderalis version of White Widow by crossing Buddha Seeds’ White Dwarf against Lowryder. By blending two stout, autoflowering plants, Riot Seeds created a potent indica-dominant hybrid that finishes in under 80 days and can easily be hidden from view. Enjoy this flower for anti-anxiety and sleep-inducing effects.

Purple Cheese

Purple Cheese is an indica-dominant autoflowering hybrid that combines Purple #1, Blue Cheese, and Lowryder. Bred by Auto Seeds, Purple Cheese was designed to have a sweeter, less cheesy flavor than its Blue Cheese parent. It does, however, inherit a tight bud structure and a high CBD profile. With a palatable fruit aroma, Purple Cheese delivers powerful full-body effects best suited for night owls or patients treating pain. Colder climates will bring out this hybrid’s purple hues, and for best results, growers should keep this autoflowering variety between 50-80 cm in height.

Royal Haze

Royal Haze (or Royale Haze) by Dinafem Seeds is a mostly sativa strain bred from Skunk, Haze, and Northern Lights genetics. Taking after her Haze parent, this sativa inherits a spicy citrus flavor and buzzing, energetic effects that keep you alert and productive throughout the day. Outdoor growers will appreciate her flexibility and resilience even when the temperature drops, although her 10-11 week flowering cycle demands a bit of patience.

An autoflowering rendition of Royal Haze was bred by Royal Queen Seeds, who mixed Amnesia Haze, Skunk, and a ruderalis strain. Its effects are similarly energizing and cerebral.

Top 6 Fastest-Growing Cannabis Seeds

Check out these 6 strains if you’re looking for speed. This mixture of autoflowering and feminized photoperiod strains will race through veg and bloom to deliver a yield with immense flavours and potent effects.

Cannabis strains have been selectively bred over the years to produce specific, desirable traits. Some breeders aim for sheer potency and try to promote max THC levels. Others focus on the therapeutic effects of the herb, attempting to increase CBD and terpene concentrations. However, there is one demand that will always exist among all cannabis growers: speed.

Speed is an important aspect to many different kinds of growing operations. Commercial growers value this trait because of the fast turnover. Discreet growers and guerrilla growers develop a taste for speed as it allows them to begin and end their operation as fast as possible. Below are 6 of the fastest-growing cannabis seeds.

Vanilla Ice Autoflowering was crafted using the original Vanilla Ice along with a ruderalis strain. Ruderalis genetics are primarily included for their autoflowering traits, with speed of growth being a massive bonus in many strains. Here too, ruderalis delivers the goods, whereas Vanilla Ice transferred her fresh, sugary, and vanilla flavours and indica-dominant genetics. Her THC level of 13% provides a soft and gentle high that is easily manageable, even after several joints and bong hits. She’s perfect for complete novices and those who don’t get along too well with sky-high THC levels.

Vanilla Ice Autoflowering produces impressive harvests of tall and narrow buds within a short time frame. Both indoor and outdoor crops will be ready to harvest a mere 55–65 days after germination. Indoor plants grow to around 60–90cm, making them easy to conceal, and produce a harvest of up to 350g/m². Plants grown outside will remain stealthy among the undergrowth at heights of 50–100cm, yielding 100–175g/plant.

As her name suggests, Candy Caramelo is known for more than just her brief grow cycle. The trichomes of this strain truly work overtime pumping out terpenes that merge to create mouthwatering flavours of mint, caramel, and sugar. Utilising simple extraction methods such as cannabutter allows users to craft sweet edible delights that are irresistible. Smoking this flower brings on a stoning indica high that soothes the body and induces a chill state for a couple of hours.

The flowers of Candy Caramelo are small, compact, and tapered. But don’t judge them by their size. Each toke is infused with unparalleled flavour and a THC level that hovers around 15%. Expect a yield of 300–350g/m² and a height of 75cm when growing this strain indoors. Alternatively, outdoor plants will pump out 220g/plant and max out at a height of 120cm. Growers don’t wait long to taste these flavours; she’ll be ready to trim as little as 50 days after germination.

Northern Lights XL Autoflowering ticks almost all of the boxes that autoflowering growers are looking for. She offers a good yield, fast flowering time, decent potency, and brilliant aesthetics. To make this possible, the legendary Northern Lights XL was bred with a ruderalis strain, a move that saw highly prolific and legendary genetics shift over into the auto realm. This lady offers a chill and mellow indica high fuelled by a 14% THC level and tastes and aromas of sweetness and citrus.

This speedy specimen pumps out gorgeous flowers that are narrow, tall, and feature shades of green, grey, light purple, and white. When grown indoors, she’ll ascend to a height of around 120cm and yield up to 400g/m². Outdoors, she’ll grow to a taller height of 150cm and deliver up to 230g/plant.

White Cheese was forged in the grow room using the reliable and productive genetics of Afghan and Skunk. This merging created a fast-flowering delicacy with a rich taste of spice and cheese, and a physical indica high that’s ideal for experiencing in the late evening thanks to its sedating qualities at high doses. A THC level of 17% places her on the more mellow end of the spectrum; it’s enough to induce relaxation without catapulting the smoker into a hazy state of paranoia and overwhelm.

White Cheese will be ready to dry and cure within a brief flowering time of 50 days, reaching a manageable height of up to 90cm and yielding 350–450g/m² indoors. Outdoor plants put out satisfying yields of 150–220g/plant and achieve a maximum height of 120cm.

The highly efficient and extremely productive genetics behind this strain are derived from South Africa. Power Plant XL is known for her massive yield that is conveniently paired with fast-paced growth. Growers will watch the plant flower for around 55 days until they can begin drying, curing, and sampling the fruits of their labour. What’s more, this sativa-dominant lady produces a THC level of approximately 20%. The terpene profile within the flowers augments this experience with flavours of sweet, sour, and pine.

Power Plant XL doesn’t mess around; it’s almost like she wants to be smoked as quickly as possible. These flowers appear on indoor plants in quantities of 600–750g/m², with specimens reaching just over a metre in height. Plants grown outdoors in Mother Nature’s embrace will provide a mammoth yield of up to 600g/plant and peak at a height of around 200cm.

Lemon Kush offers an incredibly tangy citrus hit delivered alongside a THC level of 18%. This zesty and refreshing profile complements the indica high well by adding an edge of stimulation and alertness. This interesting combination came about as breeders matched parent Strains Chemdawg, Lemon Thai, and Pakistani Kush. These desirable traits are available to growers after a short flowering time of approximately 55 days.

Lemon Kush isn’t fussy, growing with ease in both indoor and outdoor environments. Indoor plants grow to a height of between 100–130cm and easily yield up to 500g/m². In comparison, outdoor plants top out at 230cm and yield between 450–550g/plant.

Buy Marijuana Seeds in Australia – Complete Guide

If you didn’t go through the different laws regarding cannabis in Australia then you might get into trouble, which I never want to happen with my readers.

You may already know that cannabis laws change rapidly due to the different movements for its legalization in different regions.

Especially, in Australia, there are many changes in the law for recreational and medicinal use of marijuana in recent years.

Therefore, to enjoy cannabis in Australia, you must have to go through the legislation for using cannabis.

So, I’m here for you to describe each legal law that comes under the use of recreational and medicinal marijuana.

I’ll also explain a detailed guideline for where to buy marijuana seeds in Australia further.

So, without any more talk, let’s get straight into it:

Is weed legal in Australia?

Without digging deep into its history, I’ll explain in a very brief manner. So, let’s begin:

As the recreational purpose of weed has faced many movements, so, firstly, I’ll talk about it:

In most of the regions in Australia, the recreational use of marijuana is totally illegal and banned. However, due to the latest movements and government decisions on marijuana, the capital of the country i.e Canberra will be the first-ever city to legalize the use of cannabis for recreational purposes from January 2020.

It means you can now possess, sell, purchase, and use cannabis there within certain limits.

What are the limits?

Age Limit

In Canberra, adults of age above 18 years can have marijuana for their personal use.

Well, it is clear that due to its high impact on the human body, it is totally banned for teenagers. Therefore, you might have to be careful while using cannabis products and avoid its reach in the hand of teenagers, which may cause you legal penalties.

For more than 18 years, the residents of Australia in Canberra city can have marijuana for their personal usage up to 50 grams. Even this limit is granted after so many struggles of the authorities.

Well, for marijuana lovers, it has worth fighting for their legalization.

If you cross the limits, the cops can give you a penalty under the laws, which I’ll discuss later.

Well, the distribution of cannabis in the public is totally illegal within the capital. However, for those who love to grow cannabis at their home, here’s ease for them.

The original laws stated that one can have up to 6 cannabis plants in their home. One adult individual i.e above 18 years of age can cultivate or can grow up to 2 weed plants for personal use. Well, the rest of the 4 is kept for the household.

So, here I can say, those who love home-grown weeds can have a great time in the capital of the country.

Is medicinal marijuana legal in Australia?

Having one of the highest rates of usage of marijuana in the world, Australia has made it easy for those who want to use marijuana for medical purposes.

Well, the patients who have severe health conditions, can possess and consume medical marijuana by following the rules by the government as well as after the permission and approval by the local authority.

So, if you are a resident of Australia, then you can have medicinal cannabis at your home after having permission from the authorities.

Legalization of marijuana throughout Australia

Well, from above, you can get an idea for the capital i.e Canberra. However, for the rest of the regions, I’ll explain below in a quick way.

So, let’s have a look:

Victoria and Tasmania

If you are a resident of the mentioned cities then in Victoria if you found marijuana (50 grams or less) you will be given a warning.

It will be a two-time warning then there may be some legal action.

Well, there is some action with the residents of Tasmania but it is three times in 10 years.

Western Australia

There are strict laws!

If you are a resident of Western Australia then you will be in great trouble if you found marijuana even if it’s just 10 grams.

There will be a high penalty of $ 2000 or jail for 2 years. Even they can have counseling on you, therefore, you must prevent using cannabis in this region.

New South Wales & Queensland

If you are planning to go to any of the above cities then wait!

Here’s a deal for you:

Living in South Wales, you can only have 15 grams of weed. Even that will be considered a minor offense and you will be given a warning which is limited to two times.

However, if you possess 50 grams of marijuana in Queensland then there it will be under minor offense and the penalty will be participation in a drug assessment diversion program.

ACT (Australia Capital Territory)

If you are living within ACT then you can possess 25 grams of marijuana which can cause you a $100 fine which you have to pay within 60 days. Therefore, there are slightly soft laws to consider while dealing with marijuana.

Northern Australia

In northern regions, you will be fined $ 200 for having marijuana and the due days will be only 28 days.

Southern Australia

Here are the most relaxed penalties!

Possessing 100 grams of weed with smoking, all have the same charges. Therefore, it is the most relaxed region regarding marijuana products.

Penalties for Weed in Australia

As said earlier, there are different laws for different cities and provinces that you have to go through while dealing with marijuana.

Here are some penalties for overruling the marijuana laws in Australia:

In most cases, certain fines apply when you have cannabis for more than a limited amount. This fine begins at $100 and goes up to $2000.

In some cases, there is also a penalty of jail of 2 years. For possession, there will be a fine as well as some legal action. However, there can be counseling as well in some cases.

Therefore, overall, if you are living in Australia then there is a high risk of punishment for using marijuana either growing it or just being caught with it.

If you are thinking to grow the plant at home then it should not exceed its limit i.e. 6.

Overall, if you stay within the law then you can enjoy cannabis in Australia.

Buy Marijuana Seeds in Australia: Final Words

In most regions, marijuana is illegal in Australia. However, as of July 2021, the use of marijuana for recreational purposes is legal in the capital of the country i.e Canberra.

However, in different regions, different laws should be checked regularly to avoid legal actions.

Well, even I have explained some of the popular areas as well such as New South Wales and Queensland.

I hope this guide has helped you in getting the knowledge of rules and regulations for the use of marijuana in Australia.

If you have any doubt then you can ask us in the comments below. Until then, stay home, stay safe!

How to Use Hemp Oil for the Skin

Leah Ansell, MD, is a board-certified dermatologist and an assistant professor of dermatology at Columbia University.

Hemp oil, more accurately called hemp seed oil, is the cannabis product most often used in topical over-the-counter skin care products, cosmetics, and cosmeceuticals. What is unique about hemp seed oil and why are so many people using it in their skincare routines?

What Is Hemp Oil?

Hemp seed oil is obtained from pressing the seeds of the cannabis plant (Cannabis sativa L.). Unrefined hemp seed oil is a dark greenish color with a mildly nutty aroma. Refined hemp seed oil is clear with little to no smell, but it doesn't contain as many of the skin-health benefits.

Hemp seed oil has become a very popular skincare ingredient. It's also used in cooking.

Cannabis, Hemp, and Marijuana

Understanding the differences among cannabis, hemp, and marijuana can be confusing because marijuana and hemp all come from the same plant, Cannabis sativa. The distinction is the variety of the plant.

Cannabis is the name of a family of plants. Hemp is a variety within this family, and marijuana is another variety in the family.

Think of the types of tomatoes you find at the grocery store, like big beefsteak tomatoes versus small Roma tomatoes. Both come from the same plant (tomato vine) but are different varieties, and therefore, they produce different results if you were to cook with them. They would vary in nutrients, taste, texture, and more.

In the case of cannabis, the varieties differ in the amount of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) that they contain. THC is the psychoactive constituent responsible for the high that cannabis gives.

Hemp generally contains very little THC, so it has no psychoactive effects. As a result, hemp seed oil contains trace to no amounts of THC.

This, however, is under some scrutiny as some studies have shown that certain hemp seed oils may have detectable levels of THC. This could be the result of the oil becoming contaminated with other parts of the hemp plant during production.

Hemp seed oil won't get you high. It is legal to be used and sold in skincare products.

Hemp Oil vs. CBD Oil

Hemp oil and cannabidiol (CBD) oil are also often confused with one another. Although they are obtained from the same plant, hemp oil and CBD oil are very different.

CBD is a chemical compound found in the cannabis plant (both marijuana and hemp). You may be surprised to learn that hemp seed oil is naturally rich in CBD.

Hemp seed oil is comprised of a wide variety of different compounds, with CBD being just a tiny part. CBD is found throughout the entire plant, including stalks, seeds, leaves, and flowers.

While hemp seed oil is produced by simply pressing the seeds of the hemp plant, CBD oil is created by extracting and isolating the CBD compound. This compound is then blended with different ingredients to create a CBD product. Olive oil is most often used as a base to create a CBD oil.

CBD itself does not have psychoactive effects, but it can be formulated with THC for a product that does cause a high. CBD oil is often used for medicinal purposes.

Hemp-extracted CBD oil is also used in over-the-counter skincare products, but it's not nearly as common a cosmetic ingredient as hemp seed oil.

It's also important to know that hemp oil is not the same as marijuana oil or cannabis oil, either. Cannabis oil is extracted from the entire plant and has both CBD and THC. Cannabis oil is legal only in states that have legalized marijuana.

Skincare Benefits

Hemp oil is widely incorporated in many skincare products and cosmeceuticals. In fact, it's become quite a trendy ingredient. Hemp oil is not just trendy, but it can offer benefits for your skin.

  • Moisturizing: This is the biggest and most well-verified benefit that hemp seed oil can deliver. Hemp oil is emollient and leaves the skin feeling soft and supple.
  • Antioxidant qualities: Hemp seed oil is high in antioxidant constituents: fatty acids like gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), and vitamins A, C, and E. Antioxidant skincare products may help give your skin some protection against premature aging.
  • Anti-inflammatory: Hemp oil contains components that have anti-inflammatory properties, and current research suggests it may help relieve skin inflammation. There’s more research that needs to be done here, though, to fully understand how this works on the skin.
  • Potential antibacterial qualities: Studies also suggest that hemp oil has antibacterial qualities. What effect this has on the skin, if any, is still being looked at.

Hemp oil, CBD oil, and other cannabinoids are being studied as possible treatments for a vast array of skin conditions like acne, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, and skin cancer.

Side Effects

Hemp seed oil has no side effects on its own, although it's possible you may be sensitive to the ingredient.

When trying any new skincare product for the first time, be on the lookout for any signs of irritation: redness, itching, burning, or rash. If you notice any of these, stop using the offending product and give your healthcare provider a call if irritation doesn't improve after several days.

Choosing a Hemp Oil Product

Hemp oil is incorporated in many cosmetic products, from soaps, lotions, balms and salves, facial products, and bath products.

  • Take a look at the ingredient listing. Sometimes manufacturers will put just a small amount of hemp oil in the product, simply so they can market their product as a trendy “hemp” product. Hemp oil needn’t be the first ingredient, but it shouldn’t be last, either.
  • Consider your skincare goals. Don’t just choose a skincare product simply because it contains hemp oil. Consider what the product is designed to do and see if it aligns with your skin’s needs. For example, if your skin is dry, you’ll be happier with a more emollient cream rather than a light lotion.
  • Look at the other ingredients. The other ingredients in a product are going to have a lot to do with how the product functions, too. For example, if you’re looking for a highly moisturizing product, one that also contains hyaluronic acid is a good bet. For anti-aging, retinol or glycolic acid are good additions.
  • Experiment. All hemp oil skincare products are going to feel differently on the skin. If you don’t care for one, don’t be shy about switching it out for another brand you may like better.

How to Use Hemp Oil for Your Skin

You may decide to forgo the store-bought products and apply unrefined hemp seed oil directly on the skin, too. Hemp oil is considered noncomedogenic, which means it isn’t likely to clog your pores.

Hemp seed oil is considered a "dry" oil. This means it absorbs rather quickly and has a non-greasy feel, as far as lipid oils go.

Some ideas for using hemp seed oil:

  • Massage a few drops over a cleansed and moisturized face, for a DIY facial serum.
  • Apply after bathing or showering as a body oil.
  • Use as a carrier oil in aromatherapy.

Unrefined hemp seed oil is fragile and can quickly go rancid. To extend its shelf life, keep your hemp oil in the refrigerator.

A Word From Verywell

More research is being done to really know how hemp oil works on the skin. Although preliminary findings are intriguing, much more research needs to be done. Overall, you should like the way a product makes your skin feel and be happy with the results (and the price).

For treating skin problems, though, you should not rely on hemp-based skincare products for improvement. Many skin problems can be treated by your primary care physician. Your healthcare provider can also refer you to a dermatologist if necessary.

Remember, hemp oil is a unique addition to your daily skin care regimen, but it's not a miracle cure. It shouldn't be used as a substitute for a healthcare provider's care.

What's the difference between hemp seed oil and CBD?

Non-drug varieties of Cannabis sativa plants, known as industrial hemp, have been used as a source of food, fibre and vegetable oil for thousands of years. The two main oil products from industrial hemp, known as hemp seed (or hemp) oil, and cannabidiol (or CBD) oil, are derived from different parts of the plant and used for different purposes.

Hemp seed oil

Hemp seed oil is a deep green oil obtained by pressing the seeds from non-drug strains of hemp plants. These strains have naturally low levels of cannabinoids – substances that interact with your own endocannabinoid receptors. The hemp seeds used to make food supplements are raw, the oil is cold-pressed, and certified organic and non-GMO.

Hemp seed oil is considered a healthy, nutritionally-balanced oil, as it provides a high level of monounsaturated fats, and the essential fatty acids linoleic acid (55%), and alpha-linolenic acid (16%) with a low level of saturated fat (9%). Hemp seed oil provides the optimum balance of omega-6 to omega-3 fatty acids, and just one tablespoon (15ml) provide the daily requirement for essential fatty acids. 2

Hemp seed oil is also used in the kitchen for its nutty, earthy flavour. Hemp seed oil is great to drizzle over food, add to salad dressings or to use in dips and pesto sauce. As hemp seed oil has a low smoke point, don’t use it for cooking or frying.

Hemp seed oil is also used to make soaps, skin lotions, shampoo and bio-fuels.

Cannabidiol oil

When conducting your own research on industrial hemp you will have come across CBD. But what is it and what does it stand for? Cannabidiol, or CBD is a substance classed as a cannabinoid, which is extracted from the flowers and leaves of non-drug strains of industrial hemp. These strains have been bred to produce naturally high levels of cannabidiol (CBD) but very low levels of the psychoactive cannabinoid (THC) found in medical marijuana. As cannabidiol is oil-soluble, it is combined with oils (eg olive oil, coconut oil, hemp seed oil) to produce cannabidiol oil for optimum absorption into the body.

CBD is not psychoactive and does not produce a ‘high’ but it does have beneficial effects. Cannabidiol oil is increasingly used as a food supplement to promote general feelings of well-being.

Neither hemp seed oil nor cannabidiol oil contain significant levels of the psychoactive substance, THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) which is found in marijuana. Both hemp seed oil and cannabidiol oil are therefore legal to take and are rapidly growing in popularity.

Do not use CBD during pregnancy or breastfeeding

Muhammad Ali sowed the seeds of rap, new book says

Muhammad Ali’s rhymes, taunts, provocations and exclamations were an endlessly entertaining and insightful facet of his larger-than-life persona. As he once said, “I outwit them and then I outhit them.”

A new book, “Ali Rap: Muhammad Ali the First Heavyweight Champion of Rap,” proclaims Ali’s verbal barrage was more than self-promotion, but that it sowed the seeds of hip-hop, which was born in the early ’70s.

“Before there was rap .Ê.Ê. there was Ali Rap .Ê.Ê. a topsy-turvy, jivey jargon that only Ali could create, but a language we could all understand,” writes the book’s editor and designer, George Lois.

The book is not a continued analysis of this claim but nearly 300 pages of examples, with roughly every page containing illustrated by a quote on roughly every page that issued from Ali’s world-class mouth. Lois, a renowned ad man and graphic designer, recently told The Associated Press he wanted to condense Ali’s many sayings and memorable utterances into a “small, fat book – like a Bible or a Quran.”

Lois remembers riding in a car with Ali years ago when a rap song came on the radio. Lois suggested Ali was a rapper himself, to which the boxer responded: “I’m a double rapper. First I rap them with my mouth, then I rap them in the mouth.”

Presented chronologically, “Ali Rap” takes the reader from Ali’s Kentucky childhood through his historic fights against Sonny Liston, Joe Frazier and George Foreman – and finally to his current struggles with Parkinson’s disease.

Even as an 89-pound 12-year-old, Ali – who as a teenager was known by some as “The Louisville Lip” or “Mighty Mouth” – had found his flow: “This guy is done. I’ll stop him in one.”

Ali’s life story is all told through Ali’s own words, in hysterical sound bites and intimate reflections. Lois, who counts himself a friend of Ali’s, famously designed a 1964 Esquire magazine cover showing Ali punctured with arrows – an allusion to the criticism he received for refusing to fight in the Vietnam War, and modeled after the San Sebastian painting by Francesco Botticini.

The book’s bold, catchy boast that Ali invented rap is certainly debatable. Surely, hip-hop has more to gain by the association than Ali, who has always transcended all categorization.

Writing for ESPN – which published the book with Taschen – pop culture critic Chuck Klosterman pondered, “If true, this would mean that rap did not originate (as commonly believed) in the South Bronx during the ’70s; it would mean that rap was invented in Kentucky during the ’60s.

“This is hard to accept because there are very few memorable rap songs about competitive horse racing and/or Rex Chapman.”

But there are more than a few rappers in Ali’s corner, including Public Enemy’s Chuck D, a well-respected elder statesman of hip-hop. Chuck D (born Carlton Douglas Ridenhour) recently hosted an ESPN special on Ali’s love of language, which also included Rakim, Ludacris, Doug E. Fresh, Fab 5 Freddy, Jermaine Dupri and MC Lyte.

“He was able to engage his social surroundings into his whole persona. That’s what hip-hop was able to do – to be an antenna for social reflection,” Chuck D told The AP. “He’s one of the few black people to get on TV in the ’60s and speak their minds – thank God – and also back up what he talked about.”

Ali often spoke out about racism, Vietnam and his religion of Islam – but it was usually in a purely self-expressionist, non-confrontational way. He once said of race relations in America – speaking in almost Yogi Berra-style contradiction – “Nothing is wrong, but something ain’t right.”

Ali’s outspokenness was unusual in the Jim Crow-era South. Oddly enough, Ali infrequently seemed to use the boxing ring to let out his frustration – instead, his outlet was a steady stream of unabashed confidence.

“Where do you think I would be if I didn’t shout and holler?” he once said. “I would be poor and down in Louisville washing windows, shining shoes or running an elevator and saying ‘Yes suh’ and ‘No suh,’ and knowing my place.”

Rap’s connection to social injustice is more tenuous today, though. The well-regarded lyricist Nas is releasing an album titled “Hip Hop is Dead,” suggesting the music has lost its way. So even if Ali fathered hip-hop, he might not recognize his grandkids.

“It was important to the early rap artists and DJs to understand and tie into Muhammad Ali’s persona and brilliance,” says Chuck D. “The further we got away from that and the further away we get from history, hip-hop and rap seemed to form its own sort of story – which is not always good to get away from the reasons you were doing it in the first place.”

Another possible progeny of Ali’s motormouth is the less-esteemed art of trash talking. Though it was then a little-used tactic, trash talking is a constant in today’s sports.

“Most of it was done with such humor,” says Lois, noting the exception when Ali “lost his cookies” to be when Floyd Patterson refused to call him Muhammad, instead repeatedly calling him by his original name, Cassius Clay. “But there’s trash talk and there’s trash talk. The guys who trash talk today, maybe Ali doing it gave them permission to be trash talkers, but I don’t think it’s his legacy.”

Ali was extremely conscious of his legacy – he was, after all, “the greatest” and “shook up the world.” And he wasn’t ever concerned about his verbiage making it into poetry books.

“You call my poetry horrible?” he said. “I bet my poetry gets printed and quoted more than any that’s been turned out by the poem writers that them critics like.”

Chia Seed – The Muhammad Ali of Nutrition

Have you read about the magic chia seeds the Tarahumara Indians eat before running hundreds of miles? Find out what chia seeds are and how you can incorporate them into your nutrition.

Long distance running takes a lot of energy and endurance, let alone constant hydration, making it a challenge to find the perfect food or beverage that will be the boost one needs to not only cross the finish line, but also beat personal bests and set records.

Long distance running takes a lot of energy and endurance, let alone constant hydration, making it a challenge to find the perfect food or beverage that will be the boost one needs to not only cross the finish line, but also beat personal bests and set records.

One of the most interesting people I know is Joe Franzen. He is a die-hard long-distance runner and like many athletes, he is always looking for that extra edge. Recently, he discovered in his search for running greatness one product that really makes a difference in his work out – chia seed. Many might recall Chia Pets from the 80s and 90s, but this high-octane superfood isn’t just for kids anymore. It is a nutritional powerhouse with the lightning jab of protein – the Muhammad Ali of nutrition.

Joe started adding chia seed to his diet approximately two weeks ago, and since then he has seen an obvious improvement in his running times and a decrease in his level of fatigue. Joe adds Barlean’s Organic Oils chia seed to his Bioplex Simply Whites protein shake daily, which he drinks both before and after his run. Joe’s passion for running is now potentially surpassed by his love of these little nuggets of nutritional gold.

What Is Chia Seed?

Chia seed is a whole, raw food great for vegetarians and carnivores alike that has served as a superfood for the Mayans and Aztecs as far back as 3500 B.C. In fact, the word “chia” is a Mayan word meaning “strength.” It is still consumed today in locales like Mexico and even in the American Southwest in a drink called “Chia Fresca,” in which chia seeds are added to water or fruit juice and consumed for sustenance. Members of the Tarahumara tribe from Mexico’s Copper Canyon drink this tasty concoction to sustain them as they run up to fifty miles a day, making them easily known as the world’s greatest runners according to The National University System Center for Integrative Health.

Chia seed is a high quality protein source, which makes it perfect to add to a daily protein shake like Joe does or to help amp up any vegan diet. It contains both soluble and insoluble fiber, which means it is great for digestion and regularity – something both athletes and couch potatoes can benefit from. Chia seed is also rich in antioxidants – Dr. Oz has compared it to the antioxidant power of blueberries, which boost immune support like no other food – and it is one of the most concentrated sources of omega-3 essential fatty acids. Chia seeds have many benefits, including bolstering energy and endurance, prolonging hydration, helping to maintain blood sugar balance, and even assisting in weight loss. It’s no wonder it’s such a hot-ticket superfood!

How does such a small seed manage to contain so much? Well, one important aspect of chia is that it is hydrophilic, which means it can absorb ten times its weight in liquids in a matter of minutes. When chia is added to water or some other liquid, it creates a sort of “chia gel,” which then helps to prolong hydration ability and electrolyte retention of the body during exercise or activity. The more hydrated an athlete stays the better, especially a long-distance runner like my friend. Dehydration can lead to a decrease in performance, muscle cramps, mental fog, and even death, so anything that can help prevent dehydration is definitely worth incorporating in the diet.

The “chia gel” also forms a block between carbohydrates and enzymes in the body, so the conversion of carbohydrates takes longer and energy is released steadily, allowing for better endurance. Anyone running a marathon will tell you the longer his or her energy can be sustained, the better he or she will perform in the race. Sometimes athletes see out drin to maintain their energy, but drinking sugary sports drinks can easily lead to a sugar spike that is great for the short-term in regards to boosting energy, but then can quickly lead to a sugar “crash” that is both dangerous and counterintuitive. Chia slows the impact of sugar on the bloodstream, which means there is no “crash” later and makes it a great food choice for diabetics and athletes alike.

How Do I Use Chia Seed?

The “chia gel” can add a great nutritional punch to porridges, puddings, and liquids of any kind while the chia seeds are great for baked goods including breads, cakes, and biscuits. Chia seeds also tend to “bulk” up food, displace calories, and add “good fat” – all without changing the flavor of the food. Chia seed adds a wealth of nutrients to liquids without excess calories, making it a great easy, healthy meal replacement for those that are also watching their weight.

Add chia seed to your favorite protein shake or water bottle before your next workout, and see just how far your body is willing to take you when it’s operating on chia seed.

Links between the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) recommended foods and disease management: A review in the light of modern superfoods

Nutrition and other bioactive natural products present in specific foods within a balanced diet play an indispensable role in maintaining and promoting human health. Plants are rich sources of a balanced nutrition because of high content of bioactive products; hence, most of them recently have acquired the status of superfoods. It has been used since ancient times for the treatment of various ailments, and these traditional medicines still remain as one of the most affordable and easily accessible sources of treatment in the primary health-care system. The scientifically based use of these superfoods date back to the era of Prophet Muhammad along with other historical uses of plant products. Prescription of a large number of herbal foods such as dates, pomegranate, olives, figs, grapes, and black seeds was successfully proposed by him. These recently have become superfoods with their powerful healing properties and act as favorable dietary interventions for disease prevention as well as for the good maintenance of health. The use of these foods as ingredients of natural origin with fewer side effects seems to be more favorable than the chemical treatment, which is often complicated. The present review is an attempt to provide a brief survey of the literature on scientifically based significance of these superfoods carried out by various researchers and exploration of a wide spectrum of their pharmacological actions which include antidiabetic, anticancer, immune modulator, analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and hepatoprotective properties.

There is a myriad of diverse flora available on our earth, having powerful medicinal values to prevent or cure several human diseases. Many of them are considered as superfoods due to their high and varied contents of large number of natural bioactive products, which have immense health benefits. Superfoods include a class of most potent, super concentrated, and nutrient-rich foods having an abundance of synergetic elements in their natural state, which work together in the human body. Besides having good taste, superfoods have the ability to enormously increase the vital force and energy of one’s body and are the best choice for improving overall health.[1,2]

In addition to providing nourishment to the body, food plays a vital role in the management of various diseases, since the dawn of civilization and hence they are our natural safe bet, of late. There has been a long history of the use of plant-based foods against human ailments. They have been used since the time of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him). He had prescribed the use of foods rich in nutrients which can counter the effects of substances that have been proved to be harmful. He had recommended certain foods such as dates, olives, fig, pomegranate, black seeds, grapes, and many others for alleviating several ailments. Prophetic recommendations of food are remarkable for their prescience, as they came centuries before research was conducted on healthy diet and their benefits to the body.[3,4]

There are tremendous advances made in allopathic medical practices which sometimes have been proven to have drastic effects on humans.[5] In the recent years, treatment strategies have focused on the development of novel curative options with no side effects. Sunnah (prophetic tradition) advocates the pre-date use of food as medicines by many centuries, serving as precursors to the principles of modern treatment. Due to one of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) statements, “The one who sent down the disease sent down the remedy and for each disease, Almighty has given a cure.” People are encouraged to seek out those remedies and use them with skill and kindness.[6]

Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) recommended foods have now become superfoods of the day for their powerful healing properties, which are now becoming known to us. These are being practised even today; however, still our knowledge regarding the active ingredients of these plants and their products, which have powerful phytochemical and pharmaceutical actions, are poorly understood. There are no proper scientific validations, and despite a treasure of phytomedicines, our ailments such as cancer, obesity-related hypertension, diabetes, and many incurable diseases are on the rise. There is an urgent need to review the historically prescribed superfood-derived drugs for their state-of-the-art development and use. Hence, the present review highlights therapeutic potentials of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) recommended plant-based superfoods and their constituents against many incurable human ailments.

Most Common Life-threatening Diseases and their Treatment Approaches

Cancer is a major cause of death worldwide. Development of cancer gets started from the uncontrolled growth of cells to the development of primary tumor, vascularization, and its consequent spread to other body parts, where secondary tumors may form. The common type of cancers leading to overall mortality are of lung, liver, stomach, breast, and colon. There are a number of treatment techniques which are in use or under development today to cure these types of cancers, which are commonly grouped in five categories: Radiation, surgery, chemotherapy, hormonal therapy, and immunotherapy.[7,8]

Apart from various treatment approaches, chemotherapy is one of the chief therapeutic approaches to combat cancer. The main objective of the ideal cancer chemotherapy is to deliver the exact amount of drug with desired controlled rate and for satisfactorily long duration of time to the site of action, preventing the normal cells to obtain therapeutic response.[9] However, there are certain problems associated with such treatments such as rigorous side effects, repeated treatments, high patient risks, and the attainment of multidrug resistance by the cancer cells.[10-12]

The other threatening disease is diabetes. The prevalence of diabetes more commonly of type 2 has gradually been rising as a consequence of today’s desk-bound lifestyles and increased obesity. It is calculated that about 171 million people worldwide had diabetes in 2000, which will gradually been increased to reach 366 million by 2030, resulting in high morbidity and a vast economic burden.[13] The pathophysiology of type 2 diabetes is extremely accelerating, and its causes are characterized by decreased insulin sensitivity and decline cell function. Deteriorating insulin function results in chronic hyperglycemia and severe glycemic fluctuations.[14]

Type 2 diabetes is usually managed with acute medical therapy and a stepwise approach, including lifestyle modifications, addition of oral antidiabetic drugs (OADs), and the addition of insulin. Treatment is succeeding only in limited cases because OADs may also have undesirable side effects. The effects of OADs are often initiated too late, which results in exposing the patient to destructive levels of hyperglycemia.[15] Insulin therapy is frequently accompanied by weight gain.[16] The conventional vial and syringe method of insulin administration are linked in some cases with needle aversion, be short of convenience, complexity with exact dosing and ultimately, and reduced adherence to the insulin regimen.[17-19]

Obesity imparts an accelerating risk of type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular diseases. Obesity is a multifaceted disease that develops from the interaction between genotype and the environment. It involves the integration of several factors including social, cultural, behavioral, physiological, metabolic, and genetic factor.[20] Some of the various approaches for the treatment of obesity are pharmacotherapy, behavior therapy, and weight loss surgery.[21,22] In pharmacotherapy, FDA recommended that weight loss drugs are prescribed, and its long-term use may cause numerous side effects. Weight loss surgery provides significant weight loss, but lifelong medical monitoring is required. Some patients also develop incisional hernias, gallstones, dumping syndrome, and subsequent weight loss failure.[23,24]

Traditional medicines have been used to those diseases. The reason is that they are cheaper, correspond to the patient’s ideology, relieve from the adverse effects of synthetic medicines, satisfy a need for more personalized health care, and let greater public way in to being healthy knowledge. The chief use of herbal medicines is for health promotion and treatment for chronic diseases. However, the uses of traditional medicines are in demand only when a conventional medicine becomes no more effective against a particular disease such as in advanced cancer or in a condition of new infectious disease. Moreover, traditional medicines widely seen as natural and safe without any toxicological implications.[25-27] Recently, some traditional foods called “super foods” are remarked because they contain various bioactive compounds. Many studies suggested that some traditional foods including dates, pomegranate, black seeds, fig, and olives play an important role to inhibit or to cure diseases. Pictorial representation of these superfoods are shown in Figure 1 . The scheme of the links between superfoods and their health potentials is shown in Table 1 , and their precise characteristics are discussed in the next section.

Most helpfull

Rinah from Burkina Faso

This strain is grown locally from someone I know, but the seeds come from British Columbia. The buds are beautiful with long red hairs and colored purplish-blue. It has a really strong scent hence the name BC Roadkill. When it is smoked the buzz is very euphoric and causes you to become very creative; artistic beyond belief. Overall it is one of my favorite strains of bud that I smoke, I recommend it to anyone- if you can find it. 😉

Most recent

Phillip H. Peters from Offenbach am Main

I like strains that have a strong psychedelic edge, with heavy audio and visual sensations, so this became a personal favourite for me. I didn’t experience any creeping, it came on fast. Music and visual enhancement, best of any strain I’ve ever tried. A nice steady euphoria (if that makes sense), without any speediness or anxiety. The whole time, calming waves roll through the body. Long lasting, too. Hit at 3pm and almost carried me through to midnight. Not really a “functional” high because all you want to do is enjoy your stone. Recommended if you need a great euphoric, a psychedelic/sensory enhancement, or blissed out change of perspective.

BC Roadkill

BC Roadkill is another strain that British Columbia is proud to call their own. This top-shelf strain is rumored to be one of the stinkiest out there (though not in the same way that roadkill is). Growers love this strain for its consistent above average yields and 8 week flowering time. The flowers will be large and purple-blue with red hairs, and they typically reek of skunk and citrus. Its musky aroma is due to its BC Roadkill Skunk parent, which was bred with Deep Chunk to create this hybrid. Consumers also flock to scoop up this Roadkill for its strong buzz that is relaxing and trancey without being a complete knockout. Sleep may come easily, but so may euphoria and happy conversation, making this a daytime choice for many treating anxiety and stress.

where to get marijuana seeds in new zealand

How to Buy the Best Cannabis Seeds in New Zealand in 2022

There is a heated debate going on surrounding cannabis legalization worldwide right now. New Zealand is not any different. While many countries have legalized medicinal or recreational usage for citizens, you may find the regulations concerning possession and cultivation of cannabis in New Zealand harsh. If you want to buy high-quality cannabis in New Zealand, Cheers! You’ve come to the right place.

If you are visiting the country or reside in New Zealand, it’s good to know the marijuana laws. At 420 Expert Adviser, we have gathered all the necessary information just for you to make your purchase pleasant.

So, why wait? Let’s begin with the role of cannabis in New Zealand history!

Cannabis In The History Of New Zealand

Before the arrival of the Europeans, there wasn’t much contact between cannabis and New Zealand. However, when the British colonized, they introduced drugs to the Maori people, generally as ‘pain killers.’

Back then, there were no drug regulations and charges in place, so New Zealanders were able to consume them freely.

In 1927, the government passed the Dangerous Drugs Act , which listed ‘ Indian Hemp ‘ as a regulated substance. However, people still used it as prescribed medicine at this time.

When New Zealand endorsed the Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs in 1961, the authorities banned cannabis altogether. The government reinforced that decision in the Narcotics Act of 1965 .

During the sixties, recreational cannabis was popular. Younger people started doing more experiments with psychotropic drugs. To this day, its utility continues prevailing.

In fact, it is the most popularly adopted recreational drug after caffeine, alcohol, and tobacco.

Marijuana Legalization In New Zealand

Police are devoted to lowering the demand for marijuana and breaking the supply chain. Each year police target the people who produce and supply cannabis by aerial hunts throughout New Zealand.

They seize and destroy illegal crops. Police can also take assets and money that the person earned through the supply of marijuana.

New Zealand Laws: Possession And Consumption of Cannabis

As said in the Misuse of Drugs Act 1975, it is currently illegal to occupy or use any regulated drugs in New Zealand, including weed.

The government has listed cannabis as a Class B drug , which indicates that it is considered as presenting a “ high risk of harm .” It suggests that the judge in court must impose a custodial sentence, unlike a Class C drug.

If the policemen catch a person using or possessing marijuana, the court may give the offender a three-month jail order, a fine not more than $500, or both.

In reality, the police force often turns a blind eye to its usage, particularly in small quantities.

The judge can waive the prison sentence if the person can prove that they got possession of the marijuana to stop someone else from doing an offense with it, or that they took it to transfer it on to someone who was legally allowed to have it.

However, all this is about to reform in New Zealand. In 2017, the government declared that they would be taking a cannabis referendum in 2020 to collect information about the public’s opinion on decriminalizing or even legalizing recreational marijuana usage.

Sandra Murray , the campaign manager for #makeitlegal, commented in The Guardian , “We know from polls over a number of years that a majority of New Zealanders support cannabis law reform.”

Can I Grow Cannabis Plant In New Zealand

You cannot cultivate ‘prohibited plants’ in New Zealand. If the police find a person doing so, the offender could get a prison order of up to seven years.

Despite this, people still cultivate cannabis in New Zealand. The primary reasons for growing cannabis plants were for private use and for sharing with others.

Some people develop it for therapeutic purposes, as it’s currently hard to get medical marijuana products on prescription. A researcher from Massey University discovered that 16% of the cannabis growers in New Zealand had come into touch with the police.

Laws About Medical Marijuana And CBD In New Zealand

Medical Marijuana

Before the end of 2018, medical marijuana products were ready in New Zealand; but there was limited access to them. Because of no domestic manufacturing facilities in the country. Due to that, products like Sativex were expensive and hard to get.

The practitioner may approve some unlicensed products such as Cesamet or Marinol on a case-by-case basis, but this doesn’t happen more often.

The government made essential revisions to the law in December 2018. These included the following:

  • Safer access for terminally ill sufferers who can now buy cannabis without requiring a prescription.
  • The elimination of CBD from the list of controlled items makes it easily accessible for patients who need it.
  • New regulation-making authority, setting quality standards for medicinal marijuana products produced or imported into the nation.

Health Minister David Clarke commented that people nearing the edge of their lives should not worry about being captured or jailed for trying to manage their illness. This is a kind and caring legislation that will make an actual difference to people.

The Prohibition Partners asked Manu Caddie , CEO of Hikurangi Cannabis Company , about his views on the future of the medicinal marijuana industry.

They expect 3-4 serious medicinal marijuana companies to be established and licensed in New Zealand over the next two years. They also expect some of the Canadian companies to partner with New Zealand companies, said Manu Caddie.

Before 2018, CBD was accessible on prescription only. However, the government passed a revision to that rule at the end of 2018, which changed its legal status.

Now, CBD is no longer classified as a regulated drug, and people can buy and use it with a prescription for up to three months. However, the condition for the people to follow is that the levels of THC must not surpass 2% of the total CBD and other psychoactive products.

Hemp Industry in New Zealand

Breeders can legally grow hemp in New Zealand, as long as the producer has a license. They can get it from the government.

Hemp is classified as a regulated drug in the Misuse of Drugs Act. The law allows its farming, as long as the THC ratio is ‘generally’ below 0.35%.

Though, the law clearly says that the vendors will not promote the hemp for psychoactive ideas or provided to unauthorized people. The farmers can grow only certain types of species, which are defined by the Director-General of Health .

A standard license to cultivate hemp persists till one year and costs $511.11. The producers can also get an extra research and breeding license, which costs a further $153.33.

Industrial hemp farming is becoming more prevalent in the nation. In 2018, the first Hemp Summit was held in Wellington, where visitants got a chance to learn more about the business.

What Are The Rules To Buy Cannabis Seeds In New Zealand

As of now, since the authorities have not declared or established the law, it is still illegal to occupy or cultivate cannabis. Yet, citizens in New Zealand do have the alternative of buying cannabis seeds for their personal accumulation.

If you’re looking for cannabis in New Zealand, you can visit the local dispensaries and stores to explore more.

People in New Zealand may not be able to buy weed seeds locally due to limited availability, but that doesn’t imply they cannot start collecting cannabis seeds.

Instead, they’ll need to purchase souvenir cannabis seeds. These kinds of seeds are equivalent to those meant for germination, but people buy them with the idea of starting a collection rather than germination.

They are still usable seeds, and you can germinate them in the future. The intention behind this is chiefly to start getting seeds now, so when the rules do change, the user will already have several strains to pick from and can begin with the cultivation of their own plants right away.

Your seed collection can be as little or as big as you would like. Buyers can choose the strains they want and order the cannabis seeds online from reliable seed banks like Crop King Seeds, i49, or MSNL.

To purchase CBD products, you require a medical expert to write you a prescript and then have them or a pharmacy provides you the CBD oil. Any dispensary can order in some CBD for you if they don’t have it on hand.

However, this can be very expensive, depending on the markup of the pharmacy.

If you want to explore the hemp world, HempNZ is home to the biggest and most iconic hemp brands in New Zealand. They have a diversity of bulk and retail options along with medicinal and hemp fiber.

Cannabis Referendum In New Zealand

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern committed to holding a ‘cannabis referendum’ by 2020 at the election time. This referendum would allow the public a chance to share their opinions on decriminalizing recreational cannabis use, among other things.

The government of New Zealand has declared the final details of a marijuana legalization project that will occur on the September general election ballot.

Citizens will vote on the policy reform through a poll, where they will have to vote “yes” or “no” to allowing the “ Cannabis Legalisation and Control Bill .” They released the early details about the measure in December. Andrew Little, the Member of the New Zealand Parliament tweeted about this and said the following:

At this year’s General Election you will be asked to make a choice on 2 different referendums – for cannabis legalisation and control, and end of life choice. Here’s factual, impartial info so you can be confident about what you’re voting on.

☑️☑️☑️ ️ ️ ️

— Andrew Little (@AndrewLittleMP) May 1, 2020

The government revealed that the purpose of the legislation is to reduce the illegal market, support public health, and guarantee quality control on cannabis products. Under the measure, cannabis businesses could not advertise.

If more than 50 percent of electors support the ballot question, marijuana wouldn’t be instantly legalized. Instead, it would then be obligatory on the legislature to pass the bill that is the referendum’s subject. This would come after lawmakers collected public input on the reform movement.

While some people desired the referendum to be self-executing, indicating that the law would take impact as soon as the voters approve.

This version is “irrevocable” in the sense that administrators are adequately needed to pass the bill. But they could still amend it, and it’s not clear how vital those reforms could end up being.

Main Features of the Cannabis Referendum

The target of this bill is to reduce harm from marijuana use by monitoring and regulating all phases of the supply chain, including producing, providing, consuming, and selling cannabis in New Zealand.

The bill achieves this by:

  • granting access to legal marijuana that matches quality and potency specifications
  • excluding the illegal supply of weed
  • increasing awareness of the health risks connected with cannabis usage
  • restraining young people’s access to marijuana
  • narrowing the public visibility of weed
  • demanding health advice on packaging and at the time of buying
  • gaining access to health and social services and other sorts of support for families/whānau
  • Ensuring the reply to any violation of the law is fair, supports compliance, and diminishes overall harm.

According to recent surveys, there is increasing support for the case, but specialists believe it will be a close call. In the meantime, the imminent decision on marijuana has resulted in CBD oil businesses starting up in the nation, waiting for the vast possibilities that total legalization could bring.

Referendum tallies will not be counted on election night. The Electoral Commission will publish preliminary referendum results on Friday, 30 October. They will release the official decisions on Friday, 6 November.

You can read the referendum bill at, or for a quick read, there is a bill review. You may also find a list of Frequently Asked Questions and see the technical guide.

It’s a YES – NO Battle!

Some organizations are operating to educate people about the benefits of cannabis, while some oppose the legalization. Let’s see one from each!

The founders established the National Organisation for the Reform of Marijuana Laws in 1980. They strive to end marijuana prohibition in New Zealand.

NORML’s purpose is to affect public sentiment enough to legalize the efficient use of cannabis by grown-ups. It also works as an advocate for customers to ensure they have access to high-quality cannabis that is reliable, convenient, and affordable.

NORML New Zealand supports the referendum’s Cannabis Legalisation and Control Bill and suggests the residents enroll and vote YES!

New Zealand will be the first nation to operate a poll to choose whether to legalize the sale, possession, and production of marijuana. If the people vote yes in September, New Zealand will be only one of the few countries where recreational and medical marijuana is legal.

Say Nope to Dope

Say Nope to Dope is a project of a group of concerned corporations and people. They resist any effort to legalize cannabis for recreational objectives.

They believe that drug use is both a criminal and a wellness concern. Any plan to go soft on drug usage, drug cultivation, and drug dealing at any level should be rejected entirely.

Maintaining its illegality but making a smart prevention policy linked with the law’s coercion is the correct answer to drug usage.

Which one is right? Whom should the residents follow? Only the future of the country beholds the answer.

What Would It Mean for the Nation if the People and Politicians of New Zealand Chose Cannabis?

Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, New Zealand could be the next big performer on the global marijuana market when every single penny counts.

Experts estimate that the global market for legal marijuana can be worth $73.6 billion (USD) by 2027!

The suggested bill would allow grown-ups over 20 to buy and possess up to 14 grams of weed per day. Only the licensed companies will sell cannabis products with a little THC set at 15%.

Also, families will be able to cultivate up to a maximum of four cannabis plants.

The NZ Institute of Economic Research (NZIER) predicts that the legal marijuana industry could get approximately half a billion USD a year in the nation.

Stuff records that, apart from the cash from sales and taxes, the government would also accumulate millions of dollars on the police and court expenses connected with marijuana crimes.

In total, legalizing cannabis would put around an extra billion dollars a year in the pocket of the country.

The government has legalized medical marijuana for a while now in New Zealand, but a assumed yes to recreational usage could also help the CBD and Hemp market.

Reports imply that people started establishing a large number of CBD companies in the faith that they can earn profit from the current state of affairs.

Last Thoughts

The government has taken successive actions in terms of making medicinal marijuana more available and promoting the growth of industrial hemp production.

It remains to be witnessed whether New Zealand citizens will support the plan, as polling on the subject has evoked mixed results.

One of the most recent analysis, published in March, revealed that 54 percent of citizens are in support of legalizing weed for private use—a six percentage point rise since the earlier poll.

A mother plant to marijuana and hemp, the cannabis plant is a wild growing dioecious plant — meaning it has separate male and female plants. It’s made up of four major parts:

  • Cola – This is where the bud grows out of. Buds are often dried and smoked.
  • Calyx – The calyx is the base from which flowers grow out of.
  • Pistil – The pistils are tiny hairs that grow out of the calyx that are responsible for pollination and seed formation.
  • Trichrome – The trichomes are the hairs on the cannabis plant. They are often crystal-like at growth stage but take on a darker, amber appearance at maturation.

Cannabis seeds are produced when the pistils grow out of the calyx, following the fertilization of the female plant by its male counterpart. The fertilization process is an essential part of the plant’s reproductive process. Upon fertilization, the pistils are white and straight but as maturation occurs, they begin to bend, first turning yellow, orange and finally brown.

Aside from fertilization, cannabis seeds can be created by introducing environmental stressors to the female cannabis plant, inducing the hermaphrodite condition. These environmental stressors include spraying the plant with a solution of colloidal silver or gibberellic acid. These seeds are referred to as ‘feminized cannabis seeds’.

Types of cannabis seeds

No matter the strain, all cannabis seeds appear the same way. At maturity, cannabis seeds are dark brown with light accents, and they are hard to feel. However, there are three major types of cannabis seeds:

  • Regularseeds
These are plain cannabis seeds. They haven’t been back-crossed like feminized or auto-flower seeds. Regular seed packs contain both male and female cannabis seeds. If intending to grow plants from these seeds, growers will have to wait to determine the sex of each plant once their reproductive organs identify them.
  • Feminized Seeds
Feminized seeds carry only the genetics of the female cannabis plant. Feminized seeds are often advantageous to growers as they produce only female plants. Female cannabis plants are the main source of cannabis buds and flowers.

Auto-flowering Seeds – Auto-flower plants change state with age and not life cycle. They go from vegetative to flowering in a couple of months as opposed to when exposed to a natural life cycle. Auto-flower cannabis seeds are ideal for individuals who want to grow cannabis but do not want to dedicate too much time to the process.

The status of Cannabis in New Zealand

Under the Misuse of Drugs Acts of 1975, cannabis preparations – cannabis, resin, and other product forms – are Class B substances. The Cannabis fruit, plant and seeds are Class C drugs. December 2018, New Zealand legalised cannabis for medical use, for those with chronic ailments in need of an ease to their pain. Although the law has been passed, medical marijuana patients would have to wait a year until the new set of mechanisms, such as licensing rules, regulations, and quality standards, are put in place.

Cannabis for recreational consumption is prohibited within the borders of New Zealand. Possession of cannabis can result in a hefty fine of $500 and a prospective jail term of up to three months. If caught in possession of more than 28 grams of cannabis or 100 joints, one would be considered a drug dealer per current laws. Unless the individual can prove they are not a drug dealer, this will result in a maximum prison sentence of up to eight years.

Despite the stringent laws in effect concerning cannabis, it is estimated that a whopping 13.4% out of the approximately 4 million residents of New Zealand aged 16-64 smoke marijuana. This places New Zealand at number 9 out of the 10 top marijuana consuming countries in the world.

In addition to that, public support for cannabis legalisation in New Zealand was at 67 percent as of last year, government has responded with a promised referendum on the matter, to take place next year.

Public support for cannabis legalisation for recreational use continues to increase in New Zealand. src

Buying Cannabis seeds in New Zealand

Buying cannabis seeds in New Zealand can be a tricky process. This is due to the fact that cannabis is still illegal for recreational consumption and mainstream distribution within the country.

Despite the laws and penalties put in place by the New Zealand government, the appetites of its citizens for the substance have not been quelled. In 2018 alone, an estimated 19,000 seeds of cannabis were intercepted from entering the country through the mailing system. The previous year – 2017 – recorded a massive sum of 43,000 seeds being intercepted by customs from entering the country.

For residents of New Zealand (NZ) who are determined to acquire cannabis seeds despite the law, mail orders from countries where marijuana is legal can be made. The Netherlands is the most popular country from which NZ residents procure cannabis and cannabis-related products. Besides legality, many cannabis consumers have been duped by seed banks or dispensaries which claim to have outlets in NZ.

Factors to consider when purchasing Cannabis seeds in New Zealand

As stated, given the legal status of cannabis in New Zealand, marijuana seeds are primarily obtained from commercial websites situated in foreign countries. Once ordered, products are shipped to consumers via the New Zealand postal service. When purchasing seeds from these platforms, it is important to keep certain factors in mind:

  • Authenticity of dealer
  • Authenticity of product
  • Value for purchase
  • Border control/security services
  • Legal position if caught in possession

Cannabis seeds are produced from the calyx of the female cannabis plant following pollination. Although all cannabis seeds bear semblance to each other, there are various types of seeds to suit the grower’s needs. In New Zealand, cannabis is illegal for recreational purposes. This, however, has done nothing to quell the appetite for cannabis and its preparations. Many cannabis consumers have turned to countries such as The Netherlands to fill in their cannabis needs. This can result in scams, however, as seeds may never be delivered, and outright losses as customs may intercept your order.

weed-seeds NZ ? In country seed company

Found this company online last night. Has anyone heard of these guys and more importantly has anybody ordered from them? The prices are in NZ dollars but click on "buy seeds" and it goes to the seedsman site. Bit confusing but not dealing with customs is the big plus even if they cost a bit extra

There are no seed banks in NZ. You will be dealing with customs no matter what seed bank you order from.

Yes that site is very confusing, I'd stay clear of it. You can easily order from seedsman anyway since that is where it goes to after pressing the "shop seeds" button.
